I compensate models with cash and/or high quality canvas prints of the final painting or a 15% commision on the sale of a painting.
Here are a couple options for compensation…
OPTION 1:
- I pay $50 for the modeling session.
- Proofs and all of the high resolution images from the photo session are given to the model via Dropbox.
- Also included, I give the model a high resolution image of the finished painting.
OPTION 2:
- I provide a high quality print of the final painting. The print is on canvas and is a beautiful reproduction of the original painting.
- I give the model a 15% commission IF the painting sells. I generally charge anywhere from $650 for a smaller sized painting and $1,200 – 2,400 for larger paintings.
- Proofs and all of the high resolution images from the photo session are given to the model via Dropbox.
- Also included, I give the model a high resolution image of the finished painting.
A note about the photos I take:
For the safety of the model, I guarantee that the images will be used ONLY for painting reference. No other usage is permissible by me. The model is the co-owner of the images and can do whatever they want with the images.
I make a written model compensation agreement that includes all of the details above.
